Taylor Hall Pay Grade: Temporary Job Description: The Research Assistant will formulate and implement computational algorithms for characterization of SLM membranes. 30% Formulate and implement computational algorithms using Density Functional Theory to calculate polymer Binding Quantify binding energies, electronic structure, and ion-selectivity mechanisms. 25% Formulate and implement computational algorithms to solve One-Dimensional Nernst-Planck Simulation to solve steady-state ion transport including diffusion, migration, and reactions to predict device performance. 25% Formulate and implement computational algorithms for Multi-Objective Optimization Using Genetic Algorithms to Search design space for optimal Pareto solutions. 20% Prepare reports discussing the results as well preparing presentations. Minimum qualifications PhD in Chemical Engineering or related field.
