Job Description

The Data Engineering Team Lead plays a crucial role in bridging the gap between business and product stakeholders and the back-end data engineering team. This position involves managing a talented team, guiding impactful projects, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality data and solutions. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of business operations and the critical role of data in driving essential business decisions. The Data Engineering Team Lead is responsible for coordinating effectively with business users, other IT departments, Data Architects, and Data Engineers to ensure accurate and timely data availability. Key Responsibilities Include: Lead a team of data professionals in executing database administration and data engineering tasks. Oversee team planning, strategy, and project deliverables. Act as a people manager, setting goals, evaluating progress, and coaching Database Administration and Data Engineering team members. Collaborate with Data Architects and Data Engineers to understand data requirements for various projects. Guide the team in developing and implementing quality assurance processes, methodologies, and documentation for validating the data pipeline. Prioritize and address issues within the data pipeline, ensuring data accuracy between the Enterprise Data Warehouse and source systems. Interface with other IT teams, including Business Intelligence and Application Development, to assess the impact of changes and their needs. Lead efforts to document terminology and data models for broader business understanding. Ensure timely delivery of release notes and status reports. Required Skills / Experience: 7+ years of experience managing Data Engineers, DBAs, or related Data roles. Proven experience in interfacing with internal/external clients. Experience with ETL or data ingestion tools such as Rivery, FiveTran, or Informatica. Hands-on experience with DWaaS platforms (preferably Snowflake or Redshift) including user role, storage, and warehouse management. AWS experience with S3, Aurora, and EC2 technologies. Proficiency in managing various database technologies (MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB). Familiarity with security and compliance regulations (HIPAA, HITRUST, ISO27001). Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, virtualization, and infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) platforms. Knowledge of infrastructure automation technologies and their integration with CI/CD processes. Experience with automation scripting languages and tools (Terraform, Ansible, Python, Powershell, etc.). Capability to write and track software defects and compile release documentation. Demonstrated experience in leading and managing projects successfully. Exceptional analytical thinker and problem solver. Ability to adapt to competing or shifting priorities as necessary. Team player with strong interpersonal skills, capable of conveying business impact to non-technical audiences and persuading technical stakeholders. Preferred Skills/Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred. Experience in healthcare or benefit management systems is a significant advantage. Based on relevant market data and other factors, the anticipated hiring range for this position is $152,200 - $190,000 annually. Final compensation rates will be determined based on various factors such as experience, skills, knowledge, and internal equity considerations. This role is also eligible for short-term incentives, with amounts varying based on individual and business goals. RxBenefits is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
