This role offers the opportunity to lead and guide hospital billing operations, ensuring accuracy and timely claims submission across a regional healthcare system. General Summary The HB Billing Manager provides leadership and direction for all hospital billing functions, overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance with billing regulations. This position is key to maintaining efficient billing processes and supporting the financial health of the organization. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospital billing rules and regulations, serving as a resource for the team. Supervise, train, and mentor the hospital billing team to enhance performance and professional growth. Evaluate and monitor team members' on-the-job performance, providing coaching and counseling to foster positive change. Set objectives and priorities, assign tasks, and ensure the quality of work produced by the billing team. Provide leadership and navigate business challenges with sound judgment. Oversee daily activities to address emerging issues and trends, keeping stakeholders informed of risk assessments. Education An associate degree in healthcare or a related field is required. Candidates with five years of hospital billing experience may substitute this requirement. A bachelor's degree is preferred. Work Experience At least one year of hospital billing experience is required. Certification/License HFMA Certification is preferred but not mandatory. Mental/Physical Requirements This role demands considerable mental concentration and the ability to communicate detailed information effectively, both orally and in writing. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are essential. Working Conditions Work is performed in an office environment where concentration is necessary despite background noise and limited space. Flexibility to work as needed to meet facility goals and maintain operational efficiency is required.
