This position involves providing specialized neonatal care in a busy Level 3 NICU. The NICU has a capacity of 30 beds with an average daily census of 17 patients. The practice manages over 400 NICU admissions annually. The neonatologist will participate in a schedule that includes 24-hour in-house coverage and 10-hour day shifts. Advanced neonatal services provided include High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation, nitric oxide therapy, and therapeutic cooling. Collaboration with a team of neonatologists is an essential part of the role. The position includes teaching and mentoring observational students and Family Practice residents. There will also be opportunities to engage with an upcoming OB/GYN residency program launching in summer 2025. The role is situated within a regional perinatal center with approximately 4,000 deliveries annually. A multidisciplinary approach to neonatal care is emphasized, requiring close collaboration with obstetric and pediatric teams.
