Join our exceptional team and work remotely! The Entry-Level Loss Mitigation Underwriter will play a crucial role in underwriting Loan Modification applications, ensuring compliance with Treasury, Company, and Investor guidelines. You will work under general supervision, make informed underwriting decisions, and follow company policies and procedures. This position is designed for those beginning their career in underwriting and will handle less complex files while gaining valuable experience for more complex cases. The pay range for this role is $23.00 - $26.00 per hour. Key Responsibilities: Conduct detailed analyses to verify loan quality and adherence to Treasury, Company, and Investor guidelines. Perform Verification of Income (VOI) efficiently. Calculate front and back-end debt-to-income ratios for each customer. Confirm occupancy status, demonstrate hardship, and verify income. Utilize the payment waterfall to assess workout eligibility, including repayment plans, forbearance, modifications, or liquidation options. Identify borrower liquid assets when applicable. Communicate any documentation needs clearly (e.g., reason for default letters, updated pay stubs, bankruptcy papers). Complete system tasks to ensure compliance with all relevant guidelines. Document final decisions thoroughly and update the system of record accordingly. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 to 2 years of experience in underwriting loss mitigation is required.
