Retail Loss Prevention Associate

GENERAL PURPOSE: As a Retail Loss Prevention Associate, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of both Associates and Customers. Your primary focus will be to prevent theft and create a safe environment through your visible presence at store entrances and throughout the sales floor. You'll engage with customers in a friendly manner while actively monitoring for any signs of theft or fraud. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintaining a Safe & Secure Environment: Lead by example to ensure safety by adhering to best practices and collaborating with Store Leadership to foster a secure atmosphere for everyone. Your approachable demeanor will promote safe behaviors as you assist customers and monitor for potential hazards. Building Strong Teams & Partnerships: Deliver exceptional customer service by warmly greeting customers, making eye contact, and providing assistance. Treat everyone with respect and professionalism, acknowledging the efforts of fellow Associates through company recognition initiatives. Preventing Theft & Fraud: Stay alert by observing entrances, exits, and the sales floor for any suspicious activity. Gather intelligence regarding theft indicators and report your findings to Store and Loss Prevention leadership. Reducing Operational Shortage: Increase store awareness about processes aimed at minimizing operational shortages, and provide training to Associates on effective preventive measures. COMPETENCIES: Effective Work Process Management Business Insight Planning and Prioritization Talent Development Collaboration Leadership by Example Effective Communication Accountability and Execution QUALIFICATIONS AND SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: High School diploma or equivalent; an AA degree is preferred. One year of retail supervisory experience or relevant training is advantageous. Experience in loss prevention or security is preferred. Active Security Guard License is a plus. Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Strong communication and conflict resolution skills. Excellent customer service abilities. Compliance with all federal and state laws regarding security positions, including background checks and physical assessments. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/ADA: Regular attendance and punctuality are crucial. Ability to stand, walk, and navigate the store for extended periods. Capability to lift and maneuver objects over 25 lbs.
