Details MS/Tele unit at a 641-bed regional academic teaching medical center and Level I Adult / Level II Pediatric Trauma Center in Columbia, SC Patient population includes adults with embolic and hemorrhagic strokes, seizures (epileptic and non-epileptic), and neurosurgical cases including shunt revisions, tumor removals, and craniotomies/cranioplasties Stroke care follows AHA guidelines under a Comprehensive Stroke Center designation Heparin is the sole IV drip used on the unit Patient ratio of 1:4–5 Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30) Every other weekend required Agency staff are required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where documented competencies exist Charting via Epic EMR Requirements Active SC or compact multi-state RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required Minimum 1 year of recent MS/Tele or relevant unit experience Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required Proficiency in IV starts, port access, PICC and central line management, peripheral IV care, and blood product administration Respiratory skills required: HFNC, nasal cannula, and trach management Telemetry monitoring (remote), dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and Rapid Response Team experience Neuro experience required: CVA, spinal cord injury, TBI, and pre/post neurosurgical care Additional clinical skills: feeding tube care, PCA and heparin protocols, continuous bladder irrigation, isolation precautions, and surgical drain management Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the contracted campus to be eligible for this night shift Med/Tele position Two professional references are required for consideration All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront, as they are only honored if approved by the facility at the time of booking American Traveler Job ID #P-679344.
