Staff Pharmacist - Retail Pharmacy 2 - FT

Job Summary: Performance of professional functions generally associated with the practice of pharmacy in the institutional setting. Duties/Responsibilities: Compounding and preparing ordered pharmaceutical preparations Contacting and conferring physicians if there are any questions or irregularities regarding medication orders Preparing TPN solutions and Monitoring TPN Patients as required Mixing of irrigating solutions and intravenous additive solutions as required using aseptic technique with the laminar air flow hood or CAL, or CACI for hazardous medications Shows competencies in aseptic technique, garbing and gowning, and didactic training in IV and HD preparation Consulting with physician and nursing staff concerning availability, form, side effects and incompatibilities of currently available drugs Responsible for the collection of Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement data Interprets prescription orders and contacts provider or insurer as indicated Performs medication counseling for patients as requested Supervises activities and checks work of pharmacy technicians Performs other duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
