Join our compassionate community and help us prioritize health The Senior IT Portfolio Management Specialist - Insurance Technology plays a crucial role by collaborating with business, technology, and product teams across the Insurance landscape to ensure our IT portfolio aligns with enterprise goals. You will tackle moderately complex to complex challenges that require a deep understanding of business operations, insurance technology interdependencies, and various organizational, regulatory, and market-driven factors. In this position, you will organize and prioritize programs and projects to align with IT Strategy, Enterprise Architecture guidelines, Delivery roadmaps, and segment-level strategic plans. This involves balancing discretionary and non-discretionary spending (e.g., regulatory, compliance, security, member experience, operational efficiency), forecasting against annual portfolio budgets, managing capacity for intake and throughput, adjusting schedules, and ensuring that the right financial and organizational support is dedicated to priority tasks. Your role will gradually influence departmental strategy, guiding technology portfolio decisions by assessing business value, platform consequences, customer experience impacts, and risks. You will have the autonomy to make decisions regarding technical strategies, sequencing, and dependencies within insurance technology ecosystems—such as claims platforms, digital front doors, core administrative systems, and data platforms. You will exercise significant freedom in determining objectives, methodologies, and approaches to your assignments. Use your expertise to make a significant impact Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree 5 or more years of experience in technology, IT portfolio management, IT delivery, or similar fields Experience within insurance technology ecosystems (e.g., claims, policy management, provider systems, digital health platforms) is strongly preferred Strong command of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio Experience in creating portfolio-level metrics, performance dashboards, forecasting views, and trend reports Working knowledge of ad-hoc query tools and data repositories for portfolio, financial, and operational data extraction and analysis A genuine passion for contributing to an organization that focuses on enhancing member, provider, and associate experiences Preferred Qualifications MBA or other advanced degree Six Sigma certification or similar process optimization training Experience in problem analysis, process improvement, or operational excellence within the insurance or healthcare technology sectors Experience producing executive-level metrics, KPIs, and trend reports related to portfolio performance, capacity, or outcomes Interview Format: For this role, we will utilize an interviewing technology called HireVue to streamline the hiring process. This allows us to connect quickly and gather valuable insights regarding your skills and experience at your convenience. Work-At-Home Requirements To facilitate effective work for remote employees, your self-provided internet must meet the following criteria: A minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; a wireless, wired cable, or DSL connection is recommended. Satellite, cellular, and microwave connections may be used only with leadership approval. Employees residing in California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will receive a bi-weekly payment to assist with their internet costs. Humana will provide telephone equipment necessary to meet business requirements, and work should be done from a dedicated space that minimizes interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information. Travel: This position is primarily remote but may require occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings. Scheduled Weekly Hours 40 Pay Range The compensation range below is a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment. Actual pay may vary based on location and individual job-related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $106,900 - $147,000 per year This position is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on individual and/or company performance.
