Development Intern IIRR is a globally recognized rural development NGO, impacting over 62 million lives across five continents since 1960. Our programs focus on health, education, and environmental improvement in rural areas, delivering sustainable and scalable solutions that empower communities to enhance their lives and livelihoods. Offices are located in Africa, Asia, and North America. We are seeking enthusiastic and strategic thinkers to join our fundraising efforts as Development Interns under the guidance of the Director of Global Operations. This internship is unpaid and can be pursued for academic credit. Two models are available: Full-time: A commitment of 5 days (40 hours) per week for 3 months. Part-time: A commitment of 3 to 4 days (20 hours) per week for 6 months. Please ensure that your internship hours align with regular New York/East Coast business hours. Responsibilities may include: Conducting data collection and research on funding sources. Creating letters, fact sheets, and other promotional materials about IIRR and its initiatives for potential donors. Proofreading and editing grant proposals and letters of intent. Updating and maintaining the IIRR donor database. Researching and aiding in outreach to potential major donor prospects. Drafting communication materials, such as donor appeals and thank-you letters. Maintaining online donation platforms and ensuring they are up to date. Supporting grant proposal development through research and writing. Assisting other departments and interns with various tasks. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in any discipline (must be completed before starting the internship). Highly organized, reliable, and self-motivated. Responsive to ad-hoc requests and willing to assist. Creative problem-solver with a resourceful mindset. Exceptional writing and attention to detail. A curious and bold thinker who contributes innovative ideas. Outstanding interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under deadlines. A willingness to learn from failures while valuing diverse perspectives. Comfortable working in a dynamic and evolving environment. Intermediate proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Applications. Open to feedback and able to work independently in a remote setting. Passionate about making a positive impact in the world.
