JOB TITLE: Shift Supervisor FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt JOB STATUS: Full Time LOCATION: Site REPORTS TO: Site Manager or Assistant Site Manager (varies based on business need) DIRECT/ INDIRECT REPORTS: None EFFECTIVE DATE: 6/1/2025 Position Overview The Shift Supervisor role at Spotless Brands is designed for high-performing team members looking to gain valuable operational experience and foundational leadership skills. This position does not entail managerial responsibilities but involves supporting the Site Manager and/or Assistant Manager in effective daily operations during assigned shifts. You will play a crucial role in enhancing team productivity, ensuring safety standards, and delivering excellent customer service. This position is perfect for individuals eager to develop hands-on experience and prepare for potential future leadership roles. The focus will be on execution, team support, and operational oversight without involvement in staffing or strategic decisions. Essential Functions (Other Duties as Assigned) Assist site leadership by executing assigned tasks while not engaging in managerial decision-making or formal leadership duties. Provide direction to team members during shifts as delegated by management to ensure adherence to protocols and standards. Escalate staffing, customer service, or operational issues requiring judgment to the Site Manager or Assistant Manager. Welcome and engage customers with professionalism, promoting membership programs and special promotions. Maintain in-depth knowledge of car wash packages, pricing, promotions, and processes. Safely operate and train others in the use of car wash equipment and chemicals. Guide vehicle entry and exit to ensure safe and damage-free customer experiences. Delegate tasks to team members and monitor them for efficiency and quality output. Help maintain facility cleanliness, including vacuum stations, equipment rooms, restrooms, and outdoor areas. Conduct routine cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe and operational car wash environment. Conduct quality control checks on cleaning standards for both interior and exterior surfaces. Assist with opening and closing procedures under management direction, ensuring site security and financial handling. Serve as a key holder to assist in opening and closing procedures, securing the site as necessary. Address customer concerns or escalate issues to management as needed. Model and enforce adherence to company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards. Perform other duties as assigned to support site operations. Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, not required. Previous experience in a customer-facing or operational environment preferred. Must be at least 16 years of age (or older where required by law or safety regulations). Valid driver's license preferred depending on location and responsibilities. Compliance with required certification and regulatory standards as defined by applicable laws. Successful completion of a background check in accordance with company policies. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge Basic customer service principles and practices. Familiarity with car wash packages, pricing, promotions, and workflows. Understanding of safety protocols and chemical handling procedures. Knowledge of company policies and cleanliness standards. Skills Ability to give clear instructions, resolve conflicts, and engage effectively with customers. Motivational skills to inspire team members and delegate responsibilities. Problem-solving and decision-making skills under pressure. Time management and task prioritization capabilities. Basic technical aptitude for operating car wash equipment. Manage multiple priorities while maintaining a customer-first approach. Maintain composure and professionalism under stress. Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods, working outdoors. Physical Requirements Ability to navigate uneven and often wet surfaces throughout the site. Frequent stooping, crouching, and bending. Regular use of hands and arms for various tasks, including climbing ladders. Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds without assistance. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Willingness to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment. Use of personal protective equipment as required. Ability to work in environments with varying noise levels, including loud machinery. Flexibility to work non-traditional hours, including evenings and weekends, based on business needs.
