Your Role and Responsibilities As a Lead Solutions Architect, you will play a vital role linking clients' technical and implementation needs to tailored solution designs and proposals. Collaborating closely with clients and sales teams, you'll develop solutions that achieve business objectives while adhering to industry best practices. In this dynamic environment, you'll design and develop detailed work breakdown structures, leading to rough order of magnitude estimates, pricing, and statements of work. A successful Lead Solutions Architect is self-motivated and adept at navigating data and engaging with people to derive answers and present effective solutions ensuring world-class delivery. Daily activities may involve: Comprehensive Technical Guidance: Offering expert advice in technical discussions with potential clients, evaluating architectural needs, and collaborating with technical leads and sales to formulate proposals. Optimizing Architectural Solutions: Leading interactive client workshops to influence stakeholders and define architectural outcomes aligned with business and technology strategies, resulting in actionable roadmaps for successful execution. Overseeing Solution Review Boards: Contributing to solution review boards for proposals, emphasizing technology assurance, quality, and risk assessment. Cultivating Strong Relationships: Building and maintaining connections at all organizational levels, from engineers to CIOs, and effectively navigating discussions to achieve constructive resolutions. This position is designed to be flexible and can be performed from anywhere in the US. Required Skills and Experience 15+ years of experience in customer-facing technical roles, either pre-sales or post-sales. 5+ years of experience managing teams, including mentoring and coaching. 5+ years in selling professional services, including scoping substantial projects and drafting statements of work. A strong history of meeting or exceeding revenue targets in competitive markets. Familiarity with a solution-oriented sales approach and ability to manage complex sales processes; outstanding presentation, listening, organizational, and contact management skills. Proven track record of independently managing and fostering new client relationships. In-depth knowledge of Data Engineering, Data Lakehouse systems, Ingestion, and Transformation technologies, along with a successful history of driving sales in these areas. Ability to collaborate well with cross-functional teams, including Sales Engineering and Professional Services. Advanced expertise in Snowflake and/or Databricks data platforms. Specialized knowledge of major cloud platforms and their popular data services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP). Extensive experience with legacy database technologies (e.g., Oracle, Teradata, Netezza, Greenplum). Experience with non-relational platforms and large-scale data processing tools (e.g., Hadoop, HBase). Comprehensive understanding of the data analytics stack and workflow, ranging from ETL to data platform design and BI tools. A proven history of successfully selling data and analytics solutions to enterprise clients, including identifying key stakeholders and crafting compelling value propositions. Preferred Skills and Experience Experience with RFP responses is highly desirable. Hands-on expertise with IBM cloud services.
