Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst for Contract Oversight at SMX is a vital position responsible for managing financial aspects of contract operations. In this dynamic role, you will lead budget development and closely monitor expenditures for significant contracts and programs. Collaborating effectively with the Program Manager, you will define program goals while continuously looking for ways to enhance financial performance. This position requires active engagement with diverse stakeholders, including the Program Manager, senior technical teams, and essential departments like Contracts, Finance, and Procurement. You'll also interact with external clients, including Contracting Officers and Representatives. This role supports the Hawaii-based LEIA team and offers the flexibility of remote work. Key Responsibilities: Provide financial oversight for large contracts, ensuring accurate planning of costs, schedules, and funding while analyzing and monitoring performance. Set up contracts in accordance with established terms and specifications. Create comprehensive contract financial Estimates at Completion (EAC) in a timely manner. Identify financial risks and opportunities for profit improvement, working closely with the Program Manager and relevant teams. Evaluate contract modifications and advise the program management team on potential implications. Monitor labor and costs to guarantee compliance with contract limits and budgetary guidelines. Conduct thorough reviews of contract-level cost reporting documentation. Deliver detailed variance analysis and reporting for contracts. Track financial trends pertaining to subcontractors and various tasks. Collaborate with procurement and subcontract divisions to advise on multiple funding sources. Lead the preparation of Internal Program Review (IPR) presentations for senior management. Generate financial Contract Data Requirements (CDRL), ensuring compliance and timely submission. Perform ad-hoc financial analyses as requested by the Program Management Office (PMO). Provide updates on funding status with detailed line-item analyses. Represent the finance team in leadership discussions, offering financial insights and strategic recommendations. Encourage continuous improvement initiatives within the financial analysis team. Support accounts receivable by facilitating prompt resolution of billing and unbilled issues. Prepare accruals for subcontractors and vendor services in line with GAAP standards. Ensure alignment of revenue and profit recognition with EAC standards. Analyze profit risks and guide management on strategic decisions. Adhere to GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley, FAR, and all internal policies related to contracts and finance. Required Skills: Extensive knowledge of contract types, execution methods, CAS, FAR, and Joint Travel Regulations. Demonstrated ability to establish strong relationships across functional teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint. Exceptional oral and written communication skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, critical thinking, and data management capabilities. Outstanding organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities. Clearable security clearance, if necessary. 10 years of experience in project cost control or financial management. Solid understanding of various contract types and project control methods. High School Diploma required. Desired Experience: BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, or Business. Previous experience with GSA AAS/FEDSIM contracts. Knowledge of international policies and DOD allowances. Experience with diverse funding activities. U.S. citizenship is required for this DOD contract position.
