This ambitious endeavor requires our best efforts every day as we create the next-generation onchain platform and redefine the global financial landscape. We are looking for a special candidate who is not only passionate about our mission but also recognizes the transformative potential of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. If you thrive on high-pressure situations, enjoy collaborating with top-tier colleagues, and constantly seek feedback for personal growth, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you. We want someone who actively engages in solving our most challenging issues. Our work environment is dynamic and might not suit everyone. However, if you aspire to shape the future alongside a talented team that holds high expectations, there's no better place than Coinbase. Assess management's responses to audit findings, validating complex remediation efforts involving data lineage and algorithm adjustments. Prepare detailed technical audit reports for an executive audience, translating complex quantitative concepts into actionable insights. Support the preparation of materials regarding the Model Risk portfolio for the Audit Committee and Board of Directors. Cultivate trusted relationships with Data Science, Engineering, Product, and Compliance teams to enhance model governance. Collaborate with first and second lines of defense to optimize testing efficiencies and ensure thorough coverage of the model inventory. Act as an advisory partner to identify opportunities for enhancing model precision and operational performance while maintaining objectivity. What You Bring: A bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. 8+ years of experience, with a minimum of 5 years in Model Risk Management, Model Validation, or Quantitative Audit in financial services or fintech. In-depth knowledge of Financial Crime models, including AML Transaction Monitoring and Fraud detection methodologies. Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, SQL, or SAS, with the ability to review and analyze code. Understanding of the model development lifecycle and internal controls related to data governance and model implementation. Proven project management expertise to handle multiple complex validations and deadlines. Analytical and problem-solving skills with a commitment to high-quality standards. Excellent communication abilities, with the skill to convey technical details to non-technical stakeholders. Experience in leading and managing technical teams. Familiarity with auditing machine learning/AI models and AI governance frameworks. Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Degree (Masters or PhD) in a quantitative discipline. Experience in fast-paced or high-growth technology environments. An entrepreneurial mindset with the capacity to adapt to the complexities of a rapidly evolving startup. Knowledge of cryptocurrency and blockchain analytics, understanding the specific risks associated with modeling in this space. Professional certifications like FRM, PRM, or CAMS-FCI.
