Position Overview The Registered Nurse will provide comprehensive nursing care within a correctional setting. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, medication administration, patient education, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure appropriate medical management of incarcerated individuals. Key Responsibilities Diagnose and treat patient health conditions within scope of practice. Perform health assessments to identify new symptoms or complications. Administer medications and monitor patient responses. Manage restorative and palliative care for ill, disabled, or terminal patients. Provide patient education on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment compliance. Execute medical regimens as prescribed by licensed physicians, dentists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and podiatrists. Collaborate as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Participate in healthcare planning committees and contribute to care coordination efforts. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility and state standards. Minimum Qualifications Active New York State RN License (required). Minimum one (1) year of nursing experience post-licensure. Ability to work effectively in a correctional healthcare environment.
