$5,000 Sign on bonus! POSITION SUMMARY: Join our team as a Senior Mechanical Engineer, where you will take on the pivotal role of Lead Mechanical Engineer for various exciting projects. You will guide Mechanical Engineers, Piping Designers, and Mechanical Designers in designing advanced facility Mechanical systems. This role involves direct collaboration with the Project Manager and our customer team, emphasizing complex system engineering and design. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead mechanical engineering projects from schematic design through to fully commissioned systems. Review the work of support engineers for standards and completeness. Oversee engineering budget and schedule for Mechanical Engineering activities. Engage with governmental permitting authorities as necessary. Conduct hydraulic, thermal, and code calculations for safe and compliant designs. Design process and utility piping systems along with selection of specifications, sizing, and materials. Supervise piping and mechanical project design teams to meet technical and schedule goals. Engineer process ductwork systems. Create Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) for mechanical systems. Specify and evaluate mechanical equipment and specialty parts. Oversee the general arrangement of process equipment and assets. Coordinate vendor-provided conveyor systems with process equipment. Prepare mechanical subcontract packages and be part of the selection process. Review vendor data for accuracy and compliance. Prepare material take-offs as required. Collaborate with project Electrical Engineers on power distribution systems. Conduct pre-delivery inspections on system designs in the factory. Perform on-site inspections for mechanical completeness and review of non-destructive test reports. Participate in plant commission activities to ensure contract performance. Provide support in operator training, as-built drawings, and turnover packages. Travel domestically and internationally (5-20% annually) to facilitate system installations and startups. Foster collaborative relationships with team members across locations. Conduct all activities in a safe manner, adhering to safety protocols and company requirements. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead the creation of estimates, proposals, and deliverables for initial project packages. Conduct preliminary site evaluations of mechanical systems. Encourage a positive work environment to support organizational goals. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This role involves working both in an office and in environments subject to exposure to dust, fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures. Occasional travel to job sites, including internationally, where accommodations may differ from U.S. standards, is necessary. Adherence to safety standards and proper use of personal protective equipment is mandatory. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Individuals in this position must be able to meet physical demands, including walking, standing, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs regularly, while maintaining a state of alertness and safety. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. 5-7 years of relevant Mechanical Engineering experience. EIT registration is required; PE Registration is strongly preferred. Proven ability to select, design, and evaluate facility mechanical systems and equipment independently. Demonstrated sound judgment in engineering decision-making. Experience with pumps, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers is essential. Familiarity with pressure relief devices is necessary. Solid knowledge of typical piping materials and applications. Strong time management and budget adherence skills. Excellent mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are required. Robust analytical and problem-solving skills are expected. Proficient with Microsoft Windows-based programs. Effective time management and adaptability in change management.
