Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,680-$1,770/week Setting: Inpatient Psychiatric Unit / Behavioral Health Assignment Type: Travel Contract / Travel Nurse Start Date: March 23, 2026 End Date: June 21, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour nights (Monday-Friday, rotating every 2 weeks, every 3rd weekend required) - night shift RN, psychiatric night nurse Hours per Week: 36 Licensing: Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license required; Compact license accepted Job Requirements / Qualifications Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license (Compact license accepted) Minimum 1 year of experience as a Psychiatric RN or in a behavioral health/mental health nursing setting Experience with both pediatric and adult psychiatric patients preferred (children and adults) Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification preferred - facility can assist with training if needed BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required Strong assessment, documentation, and therapeutic communication skills for inpatient psychiatric care Responsibilities Provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric nursing care to patients in an inpatient behavioral health unit Perform ongoing assessment, monitoring, and documentation of patient status and response to treatment Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (psychiatrists, social workers, therapists) to develop and implement individualized care plans Deliver crisis intervention, de-escalation, and patient/family education when appropriate Maintain a safe, therapeutic environment and follow facility safety protocols and behavioral management plans Participate in unit-based training, professional development, and quality improvement initiatives If you are a dedicated Psychiatric RN or Behavioral Health nurse seeking a rewarding travel nursing job in Jeffersonville, Indiana, we encourage you to apply.
