Job DescriptionTitle: Manufacturing Maintenance Planner I Location: San Leandro CA 94577 Duration: 09 months (Possible extension) Pay range: $35 - $40 per hour on W2 Shift: 1st shift Monday through Friday 7am - 4pm. Description: The Manufacturing Maintenance Planner/Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and planning maintenance activities within the manufacturing facility. They collaborate with maintenance teams, production managers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations. They are tasked with optimizing equipment uptime by proper planning and coordination of Client, scheduling preventive maintenance, managing spare parts inventory and materials. Responsibilities:Maintenance Scheduling: With the CMMS, develop and maintain a comprehensive maintenance schedule for production equipment, machinery, and facilities. Have a complete knowledge of the PM and Planned workload. Provide a weekly work schedule for PM and Planned Work before the week starts. Ensure the schedule balances with the hours available and each technician is fully loaded with work. Prioritize maintenance tasks based on urgency, criticality, and production requirements. Maintain a backlog of work orders awaiting scheduling for ready and total work orders. Coordinate with maintenance technicians to ensure timely execution of scheduled work. Communicate with the production liaison to ensure equipment availability prior to scheduling and arrange equipment access for agreed upon jobs. Maintains a ready package of schedulable work orders which require equipment to be shut down so that some or all of them can be performed in the event of an unscheduled shutdown of that equipment. These unscheduled shutdown work orders are prepared, reviewed, and updated weekly. Assure even low-priority jobs are accomplished in a reasonable period. Work Orders and Documentation: Review work requests and work orders and ensure scope is clearly stated. Create detailed work orders for maintenance tasks, including descriptions, steps, required materials, and estimated time. Visit the sites and obtain drawings, manuals or include special procedures as needed. Estimate the cost for each work order including labor, material, and total cost. Document completed work, update maintenance logs, and track equipment history. Maintain a backlog of work orders awaiting scheduling. Maintains accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or work done. Develops a file of standard work orders (plans) for regularly recurring repair jobs, based on historical experience, to simplify the planning process. Review the actual labor expended versus estimated labor and materials used for completed jobs, to determine corrective measures needed to improve the accuracy of estimating and improving methods of doing work. Maintains necessary records and files and prepares and distributes meaningful and accurate control reports, including weekly Key Performance Indicators. Inventory Management: Monitor spare parts inventory levels and coordinate reordering as needed. Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of critical spare parts. Optimize inventory costs while ensuring minimal downtime due to part shortages. Ensure all needed materials and special tools are available and pre-kitted for efficient execution of each job. Coordinates with the Parts Clerk to make sure parts are available. Equipment Reliability and Performance: Analyze equipment performance data to identify trends and potential issues. Implement preventive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime. Work closely with reliability engineers to enhance equipment performance. Communication and Coordination: Liaise with production managers, production schedulers, maintenance supervisors, and operators to align maintenance schedules with production needs. Communicate maintenance plans, changes, and updates effectively to all relevant parties. Collaborate with external contractors for specialized maintenance tasks. Facilitates a weekly maintenance planning coordination meeting Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during maintenance activities. Conduct risk assessments for maintenance tasks and implement necessary safety precautions. Promote a safety-conscious culture within the maintenance team. Expectations: Tracks and maintains records for all maintenance department KPI's. Generates weekly and monthly KPI reports for management Improvement in meantime between equipment failures (MTBF). Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent;associate or bachelor's degree in engineering or related field is preferred. 2-4 years proven experience as a maintenance planner or scheduler, and maintenance supervision experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS- FIIX, Maximo, EAM, PMC2000, SAP) and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and maintenance best practices. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Attend Maintenance & Operational Reliability class.
