Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA)is seeking passionate, engaged, and qualifiedMechanical & Structural Engineering Managers(Level L) to join the787 Interiors EngineeringteaminNorth Charleston, SC. The successful candidate will have strong engineering expertise, ability to guide multi-faceted projects to completion, possess outstanding communication skills, and demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships. Assignment of final responsibility could be in any one of the following Interiors organizations listed below. Final determination will be based on best fit and alignment of experience. Position Responsibilities: Keeps safety and quality at the forefront of all activitiesManages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Mechanical & Structural EngineeringLeads development of engineering solutions for the Payloads Engineering function in support of current and future commercial airplane productsProvides oversight to complex projects; integrating multiple considerations including: suppliers, interfacing engineering teams, production system needs, regulations, and airline requirementsDevelops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goalsAcquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvementsDevelops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports across Global Boeing teamProvides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processesManages, develops and motivates employeesBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)5+ years of experience in the Aerospace Industry3+ years of experience leading a design engineering team1+ years of experience in leading cross-functional teams1+ years of experience in using project management methodologies, including developing project plans, performance management, and managing issues and risks1+ years of experience managing complex projectsExperience with managing projects and initiatives through to their completion / implementation hand-off pointPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): 3+ years of experience integrating within a global supply base and product value streams3+ years of experience within Boeing Commercial AirplanesKnowledge of Boeing products and processesKnowledge of aircraft Cabin and Cargo productsExperience with commercial aircraft certification processes and regulationsProven ability to lead with the Boeing ValuesDemonstrated ability in team building, coaching, and employee development to enhance team performance and engagementSolid technical background with the ability to guide and mentor the teamDrug Free Workplace: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
