Supply Chain Manager - Advanced Metal Manufacturing Position Overview A rapidly growing advanced manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Manager to oversee and strengthen end-to-end supply chain operations supporting high-performance industrial production. This role will lead planning, supplier performance, inventory strategy, and logistics coordination to ensure materials and production schedules align with customer delivery requirements. The Supply Chain Manager will work cross-functionally with operations, quality, engineering, and finance teams to drive supply reliability, optimize inventory levels, and improve overall operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Strategy & Planning Develop and implement supply chain strategies that support operational and customer delivery objectives Lead the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process to align demand forecasts with manufacturing capacity Identify supply risks such as extended lead times, limited sourcing options, or production constraints and implement mitigation strategies Supplier Management Manage supplier relationships and monitor vendor performance related to quality, cost, and delivery Develop alternative sourcing strategies for critical materials and services Collaborate with quality teams to support supplier evaluations and maintain approved vendor programs Ensure suppliers meet contractual, technical, and regulatory requirements Production Planning & Inventory Management Oversee demand forecasting, production scheduling, and capacity planning Maintain optimal inventory levels for raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods Balance production schedules with customer delivery expectations Improve inventory turns while maintaining reliable material availability Ensure full traceability of materials through production processes Logistics & Program Coordination Manage inbound and outbound logistics operations including domestic and international shipments Coordinate delivery schedules that support production timelines and customer commitments Provide leadership with regular updates on supply chain performance metrics Quality & Compliance Maintain compliance with applicable quality management systems and operational standards Ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and certification records for materials and shipments Support internal and external audits as required Continuous Improvement Lead process improvement initiatives across supply chain and planning functions Utilize ERP/MRP systems to improve demand visibility and operational planning Track and improve key performance indicators including on-time delivery, lead times, and inventory performance Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related discipline Minimum 5 years of supply chain experience within a manufacturing or industrial production environment Experience with production planning, inventory control, and supplier management Familiarity with ERP or MRP systems used for manufacturing operations Strong leadership, analytical, and cross-functional communication skills Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree such as MBA Professional supply chain certifications such as APICS / ASCM (CPIM or CSCP) Experience working in highly regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environments #MR123
