Developer IV - AI Agentic Engineer Job Summary: Talent Software Services is in search of a Developer - AI Agentic Engineerfor a contract to hire position in Columbia, SC. The opportunity will be for one year with a strong chance for a long-term extension. Position Summary: This is a new role created to establish a core competency in agentic AI systems. The engineer will design and deploy advanced AI agents, build foundational frameworks to support future AI use cases across the organization, and play a key role in shaping the company's AI strategy. Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities: Hands-on coding primarily in Python Design and optimize agentic AI systems Build AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain Integrate AI agents with backend services Deploy solutions using CI/CD pipelines in cloud environments Research and evaluate new agentic AI models and frameworks Monitor agent performance and behavior in production Collaborate with data scientists and business stakeholders Ensure ethical and responsible AI deployment Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR 4 years of relevant experience, OR Associate's degree with 2 years of relevant experience 6 years of application development, systems testing, or related IT experience 3-6 years of hands-on experience in: Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Generative AI or related fields Programming Languages Python (strong hands-on experience) JavaScript / TypeScript AI / Agentic Technologies End-to-end Generative AI solution development (concept to production) Agentic / autonomous system concepts: Reasoning Planning Tool usage AI tools and libraries: LangChain LangGraph Deep Agents Claude Skills or similar AI models: OpenAI Claude or equivalent AI Concepts Prompt engineering Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Agentic AI architectures Infrastructure & DevOps Cloud environments (AWS preferred) LLM hosting CI/CD pipelines Docker and Kubernetes Distributed SDLC tools: GitHub Pipelines VS Code Testing frameworks Platforms & Architecture Container platforms Cloud platforms Document databases API design and development Preferred: Python frameworks: FastAPI, Flask SQL Familiarity with advanced agentic AI concepts and frameworks: LangChain LangGraph AutoGen Model Context Protocol (MCP) Chain-of-Thought prompting Knowledge stores and embeddings Experience developing autonomous agents using cloud-based AI services Prompt engineering and model fine-tuning experience Understanding of: Reinforcement learning Planning algorithms Multi-agent systems Experience deploying AI solutions at scale across: AWS Azure GCP Innovative, collaborative, and empowering team environment Fast-paced, project-oriented enterprise setting Multi-platform technology environment Strong focus on creativity, continuous learning, and customer-centric solutions Opportunity to build foundational AI tools and accelerators that drive enterprise-wide innovation If this job is a match for your background, we would be honoured to receive your application!
