A full-time 1:1 Pediatric Registered Nurse opportunity is available in Franklin Park, IL, supporting a medically fragile K-8 student in a school setting. This role involves providing specialized nursing care throughout the school day, including accompanying the student on the morning bus for a brief commute and assisting with classroom academics as needed. The position extends through May 22, 2026, offering a meaningful chance to deliver critical care in an educational environment. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one nursing support for a medically complex pediatric student Manage ventilator care, including understanding settings, troubleshooting alarms, suctioning, and bagging Perform tracheostomy care, including changes and HME device management Administer GT feeding via enteral pump, prepare feeds, and perform water flushes Conduct student positioning and transfers safely Manage incontinence and perform routine skin checks Assist with donning and doffing AFOs (Ankle-Foot Orthoses) Support classroom activities as needed Respond effectively to emergency medical situations Qualifications and Experience: Active Registered Nurse license in the state Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement through the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Demonstrated proficiency in pediatric ventilator care and related procedures Experience with emergency response and medical equipment management Ability to work closely with students and educational staff in a school environment Willingness to provide in-person support (no virtual work) Location: Franklin Park, IL (School-based setting) This travel nursing role offers hands-on involvement supporting a student with complex medical needs in an educational setting, combining clinical skills with the school environment.
