A clinical pharmacy opportunity is available in Sterling Heights, MI, focusing on infectious diseases (ID) pharmacy practice. This direct hire role offers a chance to contribute to patient care and antimicrobial stewardship within a dynamic healthcare setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide primary and consultative clinical pharmacy services in infectious diseases. Review medication orders for appropriateness, rationality, and cost-effectiveness. Assess drug therapy through pharmacokinetic analysis and monitor therapeutic outcomes. Participate in patient care rounds and collaborate with healthcare providers on medication management. Oversee and mentor pharmacy staff and trainees in the specialty area. Engage in patient medication histories, consultations, and educational programs. Contribute to clinical research, publish findings, and participate in Medication Use Evaluation (MUE) and Adverse Drug Reaction (ADR) committees. Support Antimicrobial Stewardship Programs by optimizing antibiotic selection, dosing, and duration. Interpret microbiology data and recommend IV-to-PO conversions. Educate clinicians on best antimicrobial practices and develop institutional guidelines. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required. Residency or fellowship training preferred; PGY2 in Infectious Diseases and Board Certification (BCIDP) highly desirable. One to two years of clinical pharmacy practice experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Registered Pharmacist with Controlled Substance licensure in Michigan (to be obtained within 3 months of hire). Strong background in microbiology and pharmacokinetics.
