A Surgical Technologist Certified is needed to support the operating room team in delivering safe, patient-centered care during moderate to high acuity surgical procedures. This role requires proficiency in preparing the surgical environment, anticipating surgeon needs, and efficiently managing surgical instruments and supplies. The technologist works under the supervision of registered nurses and collaborates closely with surgeons and other healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities include setting up the surgical suite, maintaining sterile fields, assisting throughout procedures by passing instruments and anticipating needs, and participating in surgical counts and safety time-outs. The technologist also supports room turnover by cleaning and restocking, assists with patient transport, and helps maintain compliance with regulatory and safety standards. Mentorship and training of staff and students, as well as involvement in performance improvement initiatives, are integral parts of the role. Flexibility for call or late coverage may be required.
