An exciting opportunity is available for a registered nurse with Endoscopy experience to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract position involves working 4x10-hour day shifts within a leading medical center's GI Suite in the Washington Navy Yard area. The role requires versatility, as the nurse will float across Pre-op, Intra-Procedural, and PACU responsibilities, ensuring comprehensive care throughout patients' endoscopy procedures. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current DC RN license or pending license status (proof of pending status required at application and full license required before start) Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, preferably including Endoscopy (pre-, intra-, and post-procedure) Certifications: ACLS, BLS mandatory Ability to start and maintain IVs and work in inpatient settings Experience in outpatient Endoscopy centers is preferred but not required Comfortable working with pediatric and adult patient populations Strong competency to float across departments within GI Suite Ability to comply with facility's flu vaccine requirement Responsibilities: Deliver patient care during preoperative, procedural, and post-anesthesia recovery phases Monitor and manage patient safety and comfort throughout procedures Collaborate with multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced healthcare setting Provide on-call coverage per schedule, including weekday and weekend shifts approximately every 6th or 7th weekend Adhere to all hospital policies, including infection control protocols Schedule and Hours: Day shifts, 4 x 10-hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30) Pre-op coverage: 06:30 - 17:00 Intra-procedural: 07:00 - 17:30 PACU: 07:30 - 18:00 or 08:00 - 18:30 On-call weekday evenings (once per week) and weekend on-call rotation Location Overview: This role is based near the Washington Navy Yard area of Washington, DC, a vibrant waterfront neighborhood rich in history and culture.
