Deliver expert physical therapy care in an acute inpatient rehabilitation unit that supports a diverse patient population, including orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurologic, and general medical/surgical cases. This contract position offers a daytime schedule with approximately one weekend per month, balanced by weekdays off, set within a respected healthcare complex known for its specialty services and teaching excellence. Location: This role is based near Atlantis, Florida, within a larger healthcare campus renowned for advanced cardiovascular care, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedics, bariatrics, and women's services. The unit supports 42 inpatient rehabilitation beds and a collaborative team averaging 12 staff members per shift, including directors, leads, therapists, and assistants. The environment is equipped with modern rehabilitation tools such as treatment beds, exercise balls, resistance bands, treadmills, and exercise bikes, facilitating comprehensive patient recovery plans. Key Responsibilities: Provide skilled inpatient rehabilitation therapy across multiple patient populations. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient outcomes. Utilize medical records software effectively to document and track patient progress. Adjust schedules based on surgical volume and participate in weekend/holiday rotations. Qualifications: Current BLS certification. Minimum one year of acute hospital care, skilled nursing facility (SNF), or inpatient rehab experience. Ability to work varied day shift hours. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred but not required. Strong critical thinking, time management skills, and compassionate patient care approach. Experience with Meditech EMR is advantageous. Shift & Schedule: Day shift, 8 hours. One weekend per month (with compensatory weekdays off). No on-call or night shifts. Dress Code: Grey scrubs mandatory.
