Job Description

A rewarding opportunity is available for an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Bone Marrow Transplant and Oncology/Hematology care. This contract position is based in Indianapolis, IN, on the 4th-floor Bone Marrow Transplant unit within a well-established healthcare setting. Responsibilities include delivering high-quality nursing care to hematology and bone marrow transplant patients. You will be responsible for neuro assessments, blood and electrolyte replacement, central line dressing changes, and administration of high-risk and hazardous drugs including chemotherapy. Daily tasks will also involve long-term IV therapy management, utilizing critical care equipment such as ventilators, Alaris pumps, and advanced monitoring systems. Shift Details: Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM Work every third weekend and holidays as needed Guaranteed 36 weekly hours Key Qualifications and Desired Experience: Valid RN license and current BLS and ACLS certifications ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certification required Experience in stepdown and critical care environments Proficiency with blood administration, neuro assessments, and electrolyte replacement Strong oncology/hematology background preferred, particularly chemotherapy and bone marrow transplant experience Comfortable with ventilator management, drips, and critical care patient ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:3 Team-oriented with excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach Work Environment and Equipment: 17-bed unit with low patient-to-nurse ratios to allow for personalized care Use of EPIC and Beacon electronic medical records Equipped with specialized medical devices such as Stryker beds and Sara Steady lifts Location Overview: Indianapolis is a vibrant city known for its strong healthcare community, cultural attractions, and accessible cost of living.
