Physical Therapist - Biddeford, Maine

Deliver skilled physical therapy services focused on enhancing residents' functional abilities and independence in activities of daily living within a healthcare facility setting. This role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to create and implement individualized therapeutic plans under physician supervision. The position supports adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory standards, and documentation requirements while promoting a resident-centered care approach. Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations and develop therapeutic plans with clear functional goals and appropriate modalities. Consult with physicians and healthcare team members on resident care and discharge planning. Monitor and adjust treatment programs based on resident progress. Document all evaluative and therapeutic interactions accurately in the Electronic Medical Record. Recommend and instruct residents in the use of assistive devices. Educate residents and caregivers, documenting outcomes of teaching. Collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants and provide supervision when applicable. Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement regulations. Participate in team meetings and contribute to development of rehabilitation programs. Maintain departmental cleanliness and adhere to infection control protocols. Complete required licensing, certifications, and training within designated timelines. Provide mentorship to new staff and assist with orientation. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required; Master's or Doctorate preferred. Active Physical Therapist license in the state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred. Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing settings preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills. Ability to collaboratively work within an interdisciplinary team. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; requires physical stamina to perform job duties.
