Stepdown Nurse (RN) - Noblesville, IN

An experienced Registered Nurse with strong stepdown skills is sought for a contract role in Noblesville, Indiana, providing care to patients requiring intermediate levels of monitoring and support. This position offers an opportunity to work within a high-acuity surgical progressive care unit where diverse patient cases are handled daily. Responsibilities include monitoring cardiac rhythms, managing chest tubes, tracheostomies, feeding tubes, and epidurals, as well as administering non-titratable cardiac drips and insulin drip titrations. Nurses will care for postoperative surgical patients in specialties such as ENT, thoracic, general surgery, and urology, with acuity levels approaching ICU care. Occasional floating to med-surg, PCU, or ICU units may be required, and charge nurse duties could arise with support and training. Key Qualifications and Experience: Active RN licensure Minimum 2 years experience in stepdown or similar high-acuity units Proficiency in cardiac monitoring and management of complex patient care devices (chest tubes, fresh trachs, feeding tubes) Certified in ACLS and BLS Comfortable with floating across various care levels and precepting or hosting student nurses Experience with epidurals, insulin protocols, BiPAP/CPAP support, total laryngectomy care, and Doppler flap assessments Schedule: Night shifts, 3 twelve-hour shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Contract Details: Contract position with requirements to adhere to floating and weekend work per operational needs Travelers must agree to potential student shadowing and precepting as this is a teaching hospital environment Location Overview: Noblesville is a vibrant suburb known for its charming downtown, family-friendly atmosphere, and convenient access to metropolitan Indianapolis.
