A critical role is available for a Registered Nurse with Emergency Department expertise to provide high-quality care in a dynamic 64-bed emergency unit. This contract position offers the opportunity to apply specialized nursing skills in an environment that manages diverse patient cases ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics, including acute conditions such as stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Location Situated in Canastota, NY, this position allows candidates living within 75 miles to contribute their skills locally. Schedule 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM shifts Block scheduling is not guaranteed Qualifications and Desired Experience Active New York RN license along with all other RN licenses verified through NURSYS Current certifications: AHA ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC Minimum 2+ years of Emergency Department experience, including pediatric exposure Experience with EPIC EMR system required Documentation of travel experience preferred Recent references from ED Charge/Manager RN (minimum two) Skills checklist matching nursing specialty required Valid driver's license with demographic-matching address Charge nurse capability highly preferred Flexibility to float within the unit Responsibilities Deliver expert nursing care to a wide range of patients including newborns, pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations Utilize specialty equipment such as Rapid Infusor and Arctic Sun effectively Manage emergency cases requiring rapid assessment and intervention Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care Maintain accurate and timely documentation aligned with facility standards This contract includes the chance to operate within a large, well-equipped emergency care setting.
