This pharmacy role offers the opportunity to deliver accurate, safe, and efficient pharmaceutical care and drug distribution services. The position focuses on supporting patient health through direct and indirect medication management, while collaborating with healthcare professionals to optimize therapeutic outcomes. Key Responsibilities: Dispense medications by accurately interpreting physician orders. Review patient records to monitor drug therapy, potential interactions, allergies, and adverse reactions. Administer immunizations as part of patient care. Communicate effectively with physicians and nurses about patient drug therapy questions. Prepare and sell prescriptions and related pharmacy products. Provide counseling and educational support to patients. Monitor pharmaceutical storage, handling, and distribution. Document and report medication errors promptly. Oversee prescription processing to maintain quality and compliance. Maintain records of controlled substances according to legal standards. Assist with pharmacy staff direction and performance monitoring. Ensure adherence to all applicable laws and regulations. Recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency. Demonstrate regular attendance and professionalism. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Graduation from an accredited pharmacy school. Active pharmacist license in the state of Iowa. Current certifications such as Basic Cardiac Life Support and Immunization Certification. Strong written and verbal communication skills, paired with professional demeanor. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Well-developed interpersonal skills and commitment to excellent customer service. Analytical aptitude to identify and resolve issues effectively. Up-to-date knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
