A newly established compounding pharmacy is seeking an experienced Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) to provide leadership and regulatory oversight as they prepare to launch sterile compounding operations. This role offers an opportunity to join a growing telehealth-affiliated pharmacy with strong remote support and a collaborative environment. The position is part-time to start, approximately 20 hours per week, with potential for expansion as operations grow. Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL Type: Contract Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Key Responsibilities: Serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge, responsible for all compliance and regulatory oversight with your name on the pharmacy license Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws Support operational workflow and quality standards during the sterile compounding launch Review and update policies and procedures as needed Collaborate closely with pharmacy leadership, including the Director of Pharmacy Operations Provide pharmacist coverage during operational hours Qualifications and Desired Experience: Active Florida Pharmacist License required Multi-state licensure strongly preferred, particularly in AK, IL, IA, KS, MI, NE, VA, TX, KY, and WV; additional licenses such as OH, MA, and LA are a plus Proven experience as a PIC or Pharmacy Manager with full PIC responsibilities Strong knowledge of pharmacy compliance and operational procedures Experience with compounding pharmacies (sterile or non-sterile) is highly desirable Retail pharmacy experience and willingness to learn compounding processes considered a plus Familiarity with pharmacy start-ups is an advantage Pharmacy Overview: Focused on GLP-1 medications, hormone replacement therapy, primarily for female hormones, with potential testosterone expansion Small site with approximately five on-site employees supported by remote operations staff Transitioning from non-sterile compounding to launching sterile compounding services This opportunity is ideal for a qualified pharmacist ready to step into a critical leadership role immediately, helping shape the growth and compliance of an innovative pharmacy facility.
