An opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in cardiovascular and pediatric intensive care to provide expert care on a specialized Pediatric Cardiology Intensive Care Unit (PCICU). This contract position in Goose Creek, SC, offers a challenging and rewarding environment within a nationally recognized, Gold Beacon Award-winning unit known for excellence in pediatric cardiac care. The PCICU is a 29-bed unit that serves as the premier referral center for pediatric cardiac surgery in South Carolina. The unit manages a diverse patient population with complex cardiac conditions, including congenital heart disease, ventricular assist devices, heart transplants, and ECMO/CRRT support. Nurses are supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including respiratory therapists, pediatric dietitians, and pharmacists, working together to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Shift Details: 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM) Patient-to-nurse ratios of 1:1 or 1:2, based on acuity Four weekend shifts per 4-week schedule with holiday rotation Qualifications & Experience: Current SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license Minimum 2 years pediatric cardiac ICU experience required Strong cardiovascular and pediatric critical care expertise PALS and BLS certifications (American Heart Association standard) ACLS certification preferred VAD experience highly valued Flexibility to float within unit scope as needed Responsibilities: Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill pediatric cardiac patients Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans Utilize specialized equipment and advanced supportive therapies as required Maintain accurate electronic health records via EPIC charting system About Goose Creek, SC: Goose Creek is a vibrant city situated near Charleston, offering a blend of suburban charm and convenient access to cultural attractions, outdoor activities, and quality healthcare facilities.
