A hospital inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available for an overnight shift at a women's pavilion site in the Houston area. This 14-week contract role begins in early March and involves managing medication processes to promote safe, effective pharmaceutical care for patients ranging from newborns to adults. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate medication dosing based on diagnosis, patient weight or body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions. The pharmacist will enter medication orders accurately using the EMR system, verify dispensing accuracy, and ensure timely processing and delivery of medication doses. A strong focus on aseptic technique and infection control is required in the preparation of sterile products, with the expectation to maintain certification by scoring at least 90% on annual exams. This overnight shift follows a 7-on, 7-off schedule from 7:30 pm to 7:30 am. The position requires at least 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably including pediatric care. Candidates must hold a valid Texas pharmacist license and possess ACPE IV Certification.
