Under the direction of the Manager II, the Office Technician (Typing) serves as clerical support for the Office of the Director. The Office Technician (Typing) performs various clerical duties with a high degree of responsibility and initiative in the areas of customer service, office operations and clerical duties including but not limited to procurement, inventory management, mailing services, drafting and finalizing correspondence, calendar management and note-taking, task management, receptionist and travel coordination. This position supports the Office of the Director, Sacramento - New Labor Agency Building (NLAB) by providing excellent customer service as the first line of contact. The incumbent must communicate effectively; work as a part of a team to provide support to the Office of the Director team and the public; understand modern office methodology, equipment, and work flow; and abide by specific office policies and procedures. Working Conditions This job is located at: 1416 9th Street Sacramento CA 95814 This is position is located on the 13th floor of a high-rise commercial office building in a temperature-controlled office environment with artificial lighting. Incumbent will work at a desk and is required to work extensively on computers as necessary, for email communication, research, drafting documents, and other purposes. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, position, 40 hours per week. Telework options may be available and will be considered in accordance with the State of California's Telework regulations. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff at all levels, both within and outside of DIR, to complete work assignments. The incumbent must handle sensitive and confidential materials and matters in a professional manner and must exercise the ability to work independently. Finally, the incumbent must demonstrate the ability to use the Internet, email, desktop applications, and presentation software to complete assignments.
