Job Description: The Manufacturing Engineering Technician may plan, research, develop, and perform manufacturing engineering assignments including, process planning, creating and updating standards, and methods improvement. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Develop bills of materials, processes, fixtures, and tools needed to manufacture quality and cost-effective parts Review drawings/designs and provide design for manufacturing feedback Work closely with manufacturing machine shop to develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and Standard Work documentation Support manufacturing quality initiatives Use continuous improvement tools to implement process improvements that will reduce cycle time, process variation, defects, changeover time, and lead times Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods Participate in area layouts, process definition, and fixture implementation. Estimate production times and related costs to provide information for costing of new products and special projects. Act as an advocate between Design Engineering and Operations. Perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associate degree in a technical discipline is preferred or 3-5 years related technical experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD, SolidWorks). Proficient in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of lean principles and process improvements. LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not directly supervise other team members.
