A unique opportunity is available for a registered nurse with expertise in gastroenterology to provide high-quality patient care in a dynamic step-down unit. This contract position emphasizes managing complex gastroenterology studies, including ERCP procedures, within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities: Deliver compassionate and cost-effective nursing care from admission through discharge, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and hygiene. Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in collaboration with patients, families, physicians, and the healthcare team. Act as a liaison between nursing and medical staff to facilitate cohesive patient care. Manage emergency interventions confidently and efficiently. Conduct thorough initial and ongoing assessments, incorporating biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, and environmental factors. Maintain up-to-date patient acuity documentation and promptly communicate clinical changes. Administer treatments and medications accurately and monitor patient response. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current California RN License. ACLS and BLS certifications. Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, with at least 6 months in a traveler role preferred. Strong background in complex gastroenterology and ERCP cases. Ability to work every other weekend and participate in on-call rotations as needed. Schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (7:00 AM to 5:00 PM). Variable start time between 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM. Weekend rotation: every other weekend. On-call availability as required.
