OR Nurse (RN) - Holt, Michigan

A Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) position is available in the Cardiac Surgery Department within an active operating room setting. This role is ideal for an experienced professional ready to contribute to complex surgeries including cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures. The surgical team consists of two cardiothoracic surgeons and three vascular surgeons, seeking support from an RNFA skilled in specialized harvesting techniques. Responsibilities: Assist surgeons during cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries Perform specialized procedures such as endoscopic vein harvesting and radial artery harvesting Participate in operating room call rotations, supporting emergency and urgent cases Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes Adhere to hospital policies, surgical protocols, and safety standards Qualifications / Desired Experience: Current RN license with certification as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) Acute hospital OR experience preferred (minimum one year); first-time travelers welcome Expertise in endoscopic vein and radial artery harvesting Ability to reliably cover OR call 1 in 4 weekdays and weekends Strong communication and critical thinking skills Schedule: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM) Call rotation includes one night Monday through Thursday and one weekend per month Weekend rotation is 1 in 4 Contract Details: This is a contract position offering the chance to apply specialized skills within a dynamic cardiovascular team.
