Accounting ManagerSupervisory Responsibility: Yes - AR/AP Team Position Summary Seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager responsible for the integrity of daily financial operations and the successful completion of critical finance initiatives. This role will oversee core accounting functions while mentoring a small team and serving as the primary driver for the final stages of a new ERP implementation. The ideal candidate thrives in a small-company environment, is comfortable wearing many hats, and can move seamlessly between strategic financial oversight and hands-on operational accounting work. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Operations & Accounting Leadership Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close process ensuring accurate, GAAP-compliant reporting. Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, identifying discrepancies and ensuring financial data integrity. Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable operations, ensuring efficient processing, accurate transactions, and optimized cash flow. Supervise, mentor, and develop AR/AP staff, providing training, performance feedback, and leadership. Manage fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules in accordance with applicable tax regulations. Oversee periodic inventory counts and ensure system accuracy between physical inventory and ERP records, including participation in year-end counts. ERP Implementation & Systems Optimization Lead the final phases of ERP implementation as the company transitions from Sage100 to Acumatica. Manage data migration, testing, troubleshooting, and workflow validation. Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure system outputs align with financial reporting requirements and internal controls. Identify opportunities for post-launch optimization to improve efficiency and reporting accuracy. Audit, Tax & Corporate Compliance Serve as the primary liaison for external auditors and corporate headquarters. Coordinate audit requests and ensure proper documentation and compliance. Manage relationships with external tax firms, ensuring accurate and timely sales tax and income tax filings. Develop and maintain internal controls and financial governance practices. Prepare and submit required financial reporting packages to headquarters. Budgeting & Financial Analysis Lead the annual budgeting process. Monitor financial performance through variance analysis and provide insights to leadership. Recommend financial strategies and operational improvements based on business performance and regulatory updates. QualificationsEducation Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred. Experience 10+ years of accounting experience with full-cycle financial responsibilities. 3+ years of management experience supervising accounting staff (5+ years preferred). Experience working within small to mid-sized companies preferred. Certifications CPA preferred Technical Skills Experience with accounting and ERP systems (Sage100, Acumatica, or similar). Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
