The technologist will educate patients, operate imaging equipment, position patients, initiate life support if necessary, and follow ALARA principles. Responsibilities: Perform diagnostic procedures and review patient clinical history. Operate and select imaging equipment. Position patients respecting their abilities and comfort levels. Initiate basic life support as necessary. Determine radiographic technique and exposure factors. Apply radiation protection principles. Report and document safety incidents. Process images and maintain quality control. Use radiology information systems and assist with image sharing. Provide instruction to radiography students and partners. Operate mobile radiologic equipment as needed. Assist radiologist and prepare contrast media. Adjust patient and staff schedules as necessary. Requirements: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology. Minimum of 2 years experience required. ARRT Radiography registration required. IEMA-DNS radiography accreditation required for work in Illinois. Approved CPR or BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
