A healthcare opportunity is available for an experienced Operating Room Registered Nurse with a strong acute care background to support a Level 1 Trauma Center in Des Plaines, IL. This position offers a contract assignment with a 4x10-hour night shift schedule from 8:30 PM to 7:00 AM and a consistent 40-hour workweek. The setting is a high-acuity trauma center where advanced nursing skills and flexibility are critical to meet diverse surgical needs. Key Responsibilities: Provide skilled perioperative nursing care in the operating room, including scrub and circulate duties Participate in a mandatory float system across multiple service lines within scope to meet facility demands Collaborate with surgical teams in areas such as Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery Support trauma-level surgical cases in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment Respond to call rotation one weekend shift per month (Saturday or Sunday), 7 AM-7 PM or 7 PM-7 AM Maintain compliance with hospital policies including no call on weekdays or holiday time off restrictions Qualifications and Desired Experience: Minimum 2 years recent acute care experience in the Operating Room Level 1 Trauma experience required Strong proficiency in scrub and circulate techniques Experience in Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, Vascular, Urology, and General Surgery highly preferred Additional skills in Neurosurgery, Open Heart/Thoracic, Ophthalmology, ENT, Bariatric, or Gynecology welcomed BLS certification required Locals strongly preferred (within 75-mile radius) Pending licenses are not accepted for this role Location Overview: Des Plaines, Illinois, offers a suburban setting just northwest of a major metropolitan area, providing convenient access to urban amenities with a community-oriented atmosphere.
