This contract role is tailored for a Director of Pharmacy committed to overseeing pharmacy operations within a behavioral health setting. The position requires a licensed pharmacist in Indiana, ready to provide critical coverage from March 30, 2026, through June 30, 2026, or until a permanent hire is made. Responsibilities include managing medication order verification and dispensing, including controlled substances, maintaining the Pyxis automated dispensing system, and ensuring strict compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and state board regulations. You will play a pivotal role in staffing and pharmacy operational leadership at a key facility with a current focus on regulatory excellence and patient safety. Training is available on-site and remotely from experienced pharmacy directors, making this accessible even if you are new to certain order entry or automation systems. Coverage hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with on-call availability during the week and potential weekend on-call duties. Experience with HCS order entry and Pyxis automation is preferred but training can be provided. This role does not include technician support, highlighting the importance of your leadership and hands-on operational skills. Location: Indianapolis, IN (local candidates preferred; travel expense reimbursement considered). The facility emphasizes a professional yet comfortable dress code of business casual or scrubs.
