This is a full-time, year-round position beginning July 1, 2026. POSITION SUMMARY: The Executive Director of Human Resources provides vision, strategic planning, and executive leadership for all human resources functions to ensure alignment with the district's strategic framework and operational expectations. This position advances LWSD's commitments to Equitable & Just Systems, Inclusive & Rigorous Learning, Integrated Sustainability, and Operational Excellence by ensuring HR systems attract, retain, and support a diverse, high-quality workforce dedicated to student success. This role leads and coordinates HR directors responsible for talent acquisition, labor relations, employee relations, and data & operations, ensuring accountability for outcomes that advance student-centered excellence and operational effectiveness. The Executive Director champions equitable recruitment and retention practices to build a workforce reflective of the community and student body, fosters a culture of well-being and respect, and ensures HR systems support continuous improvement and innovation. Additionally, this position ensures compliance with laws, policies, and collective bargaining agreements. As a member of the central leadership team reporting to the Deputy Superintendent, the Executive Director ensures HR systems and practices enable the district to achieve its strategic goals. SALARY: Executive Director Salary Level 14 - Step 1 $205,163 - Step 2 $209,350 per year (based on 2025-2026 salary schedule) per year, 261 days. This is an exempt position. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: • Master's degree in human resources, business administration, education leadership, or related field (preferred). • Seven years of full-time, paid, professional operational management in a large, complex organization, five of which have been in human resources in a leadership capacity and have included overseeing professional and support staff and strategic and organization planning. Demonstrated success in: • Talent acquisition and retention strategies. • Negotiating labor contracts. • Managing employee relations and compliance. • Overseeing HR operations and data systems. • Strong knowledge of employment law, labor relations, and HR best practices. • Must have access to and use of a personal vehicle for district-related travel.
