Job Type Temporary Description SUMMARY The Get Moving Program Assistant is a part-time position (up to 25 hours per week) that will oversee all the water activities at Adderley Apartment Complex and Harvest Hope Park as directed by the Deputy Director. This position is a 25- hour work week. Duties as listed: Review applications for program activities, coordinate parent/child orientations, administer assessments and obtain results, schedule classes and provide vendors and Get Moving! staff calendar of events, respond to questions, enter information into CATS, implement, monitor and attend program activities as directed by Deputy Director and generate emails and reports when appropriate. The Program Assistant will also work out of Adderley Apartment Complex and Harvest Hope Center Monday through Friday. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Support, supervise, and act as point person for all water safety activities at Adderley Apartment and Harvest Hope Park. Provide excellent customer service and welcoming spirit to all who visit the park. Enforce Park policies and procedures, address issues that may arise, and communicate incidents to supervisor in a timely and professional manner. Assist with community development and engagement actions including, but not limited to promoting University Area CDC programs and services, conducting surveys and outreach. ensure facility and equipment are stocked at all times. Ensure personal and facility appearance meet standards for scheduled activities. Other duties as assigned. OCCASIONAL DUTIES Participation in company events and external events as needed. Minimum 1 years' experience as a Program Assist or like position working with community residents in similar setting. Excellent organization and computer skills including all MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Ability to speak, read, and write English and Spanish fluently preferred. Ability and willingness to accept direction and follow established Policies and Procedures. Ability and willingness to show cultural competence in regards to nationality, race, sex, religion, and sexual preference of both community members and staff. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to provide effective customer service to diverse groups of people, including but not limited to: community residents, students, volunteers, businesses, donors, etc. Prior experience in a nonprofit setting preferred. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to speak, read, and write English and Spanish fluently preferred. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to apply mathematical concepts. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. COMPUTER SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Design software; Internet software; Order Processing systems; Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite, including but not limited to Spreadsheet, Presentation, relational database and Word Processing software. OTHER QUALIFICATIONS Willingness to participate in evening and weekend activities. Frequent local travel required. Must have reliable transportation.
