Job Description

A fast-paced emergency department is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with Emergency Room experience to provide exceptional care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of ED RN experience, demonstrating proficiency in treating a diverse patient population, including trauma, mental health, and acute medical emergencies. Location: Situated near Concord, NC, this facility is approximately 50 miles or more from the nurse's permanent address as per travel requirements. The hospital features 130 licensed beds, including a 34-bed emergency unit, and serves a high volume of over 200 patients daily. While not trauma-designated, the ED manages heavy trauma stabilization before transferring critical cases. The practice environment is fast-paced with a strong culture of teamwork and support. Key Responsibilities: Provide comprehensive care to adult and pediatric patients with medical emergencies Skillfully perform cardiac rhythm interpretation, critical care drip management, PIV starts, TNK/TPA administration, and conscious sedation Collaborate closely with CNAs, receptionists, and charge nurses for seamless patient care Utilize technology such as EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors Float flexibly to support multiple regional facilities as required, remaining on the clock during travel Participate in a thorough orientation process prior to starting Qualifications and Experience: Current RN licensure with a minimum of two years in emergency nursing BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required; TNCC preferred Ability to manage high-acuity cases including trauma, stroke, respiratory, and substance use populations Comfortable working varied shifts, including a weekend rotation every other week and holiday coverage at 75% Schedule and Work Environment: Varies by requisition; typical ratios are 1:4 RN and LPN with CNA support No on-call requirements; 6-week scheduling cycles with approved time off policies Scrub color designated as navy; free parking available This contract role provides a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to advance emergency nursing skills in a supportive and technologically equipped setting.
