Job Summary: State Street is a leading investment firm that empowers clients with a cloud-based platform for investment management. The SW Engineer II will contribute to the development of CRD/Alpha Platform modules by designing, developing, testing, and debugging software enhancements, while participating in the agile software development process. Responsibilities: • Work under modest supervision to design, develop, test, and debug small to medium software enhancements and solutions within the business and technical problem domains • Develop, test, debug, and implement software programs, applications and projects using React/JavaScript, Java, SQL and other software engineering languages • Write unit and automation tests to ensure a high-quality end product • When required, conduct manual tests to ensure a high-quality end product • Participate in code reviews • Actively participate in the agile software development process by adhering to the CRD scrum methodology including attending all daily standups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives • Provide engineering troubleshooting assistance to customer support teams and other development teams Qualifications: Required: • B.S. or Master’s degree in Computer Science or similar technical courses • A minimum of 2 to 5 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience • Demonstrated skill with object-oriented programming, data structures, compiler or interpreter technologies, operating systems, databases, scripting and new/advanced programming languages • Experience with React/JavaScript required • Able to work on small to medium sized projects/tasks with moderate supervision • Effective written and verbal communication skills • Able to work well with peers in a collaborative team environment Preferred: • Experience with Java, SQL and/or Azure desired • Experience working with an Agile development methodology is desired Company: State Street offers a range of financial services, including investment management, research and trading, as well as asset management.
