Job Description

Development Associate The Development Associate is a key member of the Federation's Development team, supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising initiatives that sustain and grow the organization's impact. The Associate works closely with professional staff, volunteer fundraisers, donors, and cross-departmental partners to ensure the success of the annual Community Campaign, corporate giving efforts, and related programs. This role involves significant relationship management, administrative coordination, and data support, requiring strong attention to detail, flexibility, and teamwork. Essential Job Functions Essential Job Functions: Support the Director of Development and Associate Vice President of Development in organizing and tracking fundraising progress for more than 2,000 annual donors and over 80 volunteer fundraisers. Manage a portfolio of 510 volunteer fundraisers, including conducting donor list reviews, supporting solicitation efforts with donor history and strategy, and maintaining consistent communication to ensure successful solicitations. Partner with Development Operations to obtain reports and donor lists from the database as needed. Assist the professional fundraising team with calendar management, including marketing deadlines, event timelines, collateral production, and direct mail and email appeals. Collaborate with events and marketing teams to establish and follow timelines from committee selection through event execution. Coordinate aspects of the corporate giving program, including assisting with marketing materials, proposal development, and meeting coordination. Attend donor meetings and events in a support capacity and assist with follow-up. Coordinate seasonal State College Campaign processing and donor communications. Participate in the EITC (Pennsylvania Tax Credit) program by assisting with donor stewardship and prospect development. Respond promptly and professionally to internal and external communications. Receive training in database usage and data entry protocols. Qualifications Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of two years of experience in a nonprofit development or fundraising environment. Strong interpersonal skills and comfort working with donors, volunteers, and senior leaders. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively across teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with donor databases a plus. Familiarity with the Jewish communal ecosystem preferred. Compensation This position has a competitive hiring range of $43,000 to $55,000 a year, commensurate with experience.
