Job Description

Assistant Project Manager Join our team as an Assistant Project Manager, where you will play a key role in supporting the management of a significant LNG project in Lake Charles, LA. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on large-scale marine construction projects with a focus on safety, client interactions, and professional growth. Responsibilities Assist the project manager with documentation, inspections, client meetings, schedules, submittals, and subcontractor management. Lead and promote safety and an Incident and Injury Free culture at all levels on site. Support required pre-work submittals, including the Emergency Response Plan, Accident Prevention Plan, and QC Plan. Ensure compliance with contracts, specifications, regulations, and company policies. Manage subcontracts and project expenses in accordance with company policies. Participate in the preparation of reports, changes, proposals, and claims, ensuring timely documentation. Maintain accurate project schedules and cost estimates, and ensure timely invoicing. Participate in client meetings and foster positive client relationships. Essential Skills Minimum 5 years of experience on large EPC projects, preferably in the O&G sector. Experience with project management support on large EPC projects. Safety leadership and implementation of an Incident and Injury Free culture. Pre-work planning and management of safety and operational submittals. Contract, specification, permit, and regulatory compliance. Schedule management and cost tracking to completion. Subcontractor and purchasing management. Client communication and meeting participation. Change management and claims documentation. Accurate project invoicing and financial reporting. Additional Skills & Qualifications Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or similar is preferred. Marine construction and waterside operations experience is preferred. Familiarity with environmental protection and quality control plans. Experience supporting change orders and proposals. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in rotational or field-based project assignments. Proficiency with project scheduling and cost tracking tools. Work Environment You will be part of a collaborative team in a dynamic marine construction environment, where safety, efficiency, and professionalism are prioritized. The position offers a rotation-based schedule of 14 days on and 7 days off, with flexibility for longer rotations if desired. The dress code is practical and safety-focused, requiring appropriate PPE for all site activities. Travel, lodging, and rental car expenses are covered, and a per diem is provided for days on-site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
