Software Development Engineer, AWS Proactive Security

Job Summary: Amazon Web Services (AWS) is focused on building cryptographic systems to enhance customer control over their sensitive data. The role involves designing and implementing secure components using Rust and distributed systems, while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to operational excellence. Responsibilities: • Design and implement cryptographic systems using Rust, formal verification, PKI, and distributed systems. • Own significant features from design through deployment. • Conduct code reviews, debug complex issues, and identify technical debt. • Mentor junior engineers. • Contribute to operational excellence through on-call participation, monitoring, and runbooks. Qualifications: Required: • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience • 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using: C#, C++, Java, or Perl experience • 1+ years of Object Oriented Design experience • Experience programming with at least one software programming language Preferred: • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience • Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent Company: Launched in 2006, Amazon Web Services (AWS) began exposing key infrastructure services to businesses in the form of web services -- now widely known as cloud computing.
