The client is dedicated to ensuring that children and youth experiencing homelessness have access to educational opportunities and support. They collaborate with shelters, academic institutions, and community agencies, serving over 1,000 students annually through various programs. As the client is rapidly expanding, they are building toward a goal of serving 1,700+ students annually and aim to become a $5M organization with increased visibility. The client seeks a Major Gifts Officer to contribute to this growth by expanding individual giving and major-gift partnerships. The Major Gifts Officer will manage a portfolio of 100150 donors, focusing on building relationships with those capable of making gifts ranging from $5,000 to more than $250,000. The role involves leading cultivation and solicitation activities, supporting the President and CEO in donor strategies, and preparing proposals and gift agreements. Additionally, the officer will work on advancing endowment and planned giving strategies, engaging board members, and enhancing donor storytelling. Success in this role will result in a growing portfolio of major donors, increased multi-year commitments, and strengthened relationship-based revenue models that support the client's long-term growth. Candidates should possess 35 years of experience in major gifts or nonprofit fundraising, demonstrating success in securing significant gifts. Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and organizational skills are essential, along with a deep belief in educational equity and the client's mission.
